Ciel/Reader one-shot - I'm Not That Girl

-------------------------------------------

Hands touch, eyes meet

Sudden silence, sudden heat

Hearts leap in a giddy whirl

He could be that boy

But I'm not that girl.

Standing off to the side of the dining room like you always did. You stood there alone with your hands held in front of you as you solemnly watched the Young Master and Lady Elizabeth sitting at the long dining table eating and drinking tea together. You painfully watched the two enjoying their time together. It made you so frustrated with yourself getting so worked up over this like you always did. Whenever Lady Elizabeth came to the Phantomhive household you always fully out-right dreaded it. Because her presence would always remind you of the very thing you could never have and that was Ciel Phantomhive, the Young Master himself.

Very tightly you held onto your hands until they turned white in color, all the while, you tried not to start crying from your own thoughts. Of course, you should be happy for Ciel. Elizabeth was not such a bad girl. No, you refused to let yourself hate Lady Elizabeth because she was engaged to Ciel. Jealousy was still there dwelling in the depths of your heart but you refused to let it consume you. You had to look at the odds of you being together, there was none. You were merely a simple maid that Sebastian had hired a year back. An Earl such as Ciel would never be caught dead caught in a romance with a lowly maid girl like yourself. It just wasn't logical, it never happens.

You shuffle on your feet to a more comfortable position as you veer your sad (e/c) eyes to look at the wooden floor. You could hear Lady Elizabeth giggling in her typical high-pitched voice that sometimes would make you cringe. Not because you hated her of course… You just simply 'envied' her. You wished you could be a higher class aristocrat like her. She was so lucky, she had no idea.

Continuing to gaze down at the floor, you feel abruptly like you were being watched. Looking back up, you look for the source and notice Ciel is glancing over at you with his deep sapphire eyes as Elizabeth was chatting non-stop about random girly topics. His hand was held securely under his chin as he stared at you. You felt your heart beat pick up in its pace when you catch eyes with Ciel. He looked absolutely bored out of his mind. You felt sorry for him. Elizabeth was a sweet girl but you didn't think Ciel and her weren't very… 'compatible'.

You didn't even think Ciel was really comprehending that he was staring at you, especially making you on edge. You fiddle with the sides of your deep blue and white maid dress as he stares. He was only interrupted from his gawking when Elizabeth spoke up and asked Ciel a question about something that probably didn't matter much to him. You gulp nervously and step over to the table to pour Ciel some more tea. It was when he answered back to Elizabeth and then turned to look as you when you froze on the spot with a tea kettle in hand. "W-would you like some more tea, Young Master?" You ask him with a blush appearing back onto your face as he looks back at you with those big beautiful blue eyes.

He nods his head as he watches you in silent interest. Your try to steady your hands as you tilt over the kettle and begin to pour the piping hot Earl Grey tea into his teacup. Attempting to concentrate only on the tea pouring from the spout. You could feel Ciel's eyes on you. "Thank you, (Y/n)." Ciel says graciously with a nod in your direction. You spot pouring once the tea reaches close to the brim of the teacup.

Elizabeth watches the two of you closely as you two stare at each other in a strange but awkward silence. "You're welcome." You bow your head after a moment to him and glance over at Elizabeth who was scrutinizing you with a small frown on her delicate face. Her light blonde eyebrows were furrowed in suspicion as you back away timidly from Ciel.

"So as I was saying…" Elizabeth interrupts Ciel from staring at you with an unreadable expression. He turns his head back and looks to the fair blonde pink cladded lady in front of him. Ciel goes back to paying attention to Elizabeth. Little do you know, Sebastian was standing at the door's entrance the whole time and watching you and Ciel closely. He knew something was askew between the two of you and he knew exactly what it was.

Don't dream too far

Don't lose sight of who you are

Don't remember that rush of joy

He could be that boy

I'm not that girl

Ev'ry so often we long to steal

To the land of what-might-have-been

But that doesn't soften the ache we feel

When reality sets back in…

Later that evening, you laid in bed staring outside at the stars in the night sky. They twinkled brightly and shone their light brilliantly for all to see. You frowned when you thought of Ciel. You wished more than anything you could be watching the stars together. It was such a lovely night out too. Sitting up, you pull the window open and feel the cold breeze of the wind draft softly into your room. You briefly close your eyes, enjoying the wind on your face.

Sitting on your knees you watch the stars and bring your hands together in prayer. Staring up at the brightest star in the sky, you begin to wish on that star. "Bright star that I see tonight. I wish… I wish Ciel and I could be together. Bright star, I love him so much. He means so much to me but it seems impossible. He's engaged to someone else. It seems like it won't be meant to be for the two of us." You plead to the star that sparkles in the sky. An aching remained in your heart and did not soften.

You suddenly feel very silly by what you're doing. Not that it has been the first time you wished upon a star. But dreaming and wishing on stars was for children. You were not a little child anymore. You had to face the reality that you were not ever going to be in Elizabeth's place. You were not that girl.

Placing your hands on your heart you close your eyes and let the tears escape down your cheeks. Why did you have to be in love with Ciel of all people? You weren't meant to be with him yet here you were pathetically wishing on stars and dreaming silly fantasies about the Phantomhive Earl.

Suddenly, you hear a knock on the door to your bedroom. You quickly turn your head and look over at the door questionably. Who would be knocking on your door this late? "Who is it?" You ask loud enough for the person on the other end to hear.

"It is Sebastian, my lady. May I come in?"

Perking up, you begin to feel nervous. What would Sebastian need of you? Have you done something wrong? "Come in!"

The door creaks open and the tall handsome butler comes walking inside. He sees your tearful face and shakes his head with a gentle sigh, "Miss. (Y/n), whatever are you crying for?" Sebastian asks you though part of him very well knew what the reason was. You attempt to rub away your tears with your hands but it was for naught since Sebastian had already found you in this depressive state.

"I-Its nothing. I'm just… not feeling well." You lie and turn your head away shamefully as he scrutinizes you from head to toe.

"I don't believe that is what is troubling you. I can tell when someone is lying to me. Is this about the Young Master?" Sebastian presses on which makes you tense up immediately. Your face scrunches up with a frown as you instantly start shaking your head with a blush. "(Y/n)…" Sebastian sighs again and walks over to the side of your bed. Trembling slightly you knew Sebastian was on to you, he knew something was wrong. You suppose there was no point in lying to him any further. Perhaps, you could trust Sebastian enough to know about your attraction to the Young Master.

"I'm sorry, Sebastian. Its just that I…" Trailing off you have a far out distant glimpse in your eyes.

"Have feelings for the Young Master?" Sebastian cut in which made your face glow bright red in embarrassment. Opening your mouth, you quickly close it and look down shamefully. With a silent nod of your head you feel more tears gathering and spilling down your face. You just couldn't hold it back anymore. Putting your face into your hands, you start breathing out sobs as your body shakes. Sebastian frowns and takes a seat on the bed next to you.

"I'm so sorry, I know its so inappropriate! Ciel is engaged and I'm just being selfish. I'm so pathetic!" You continue to cry.

"You are not pathetic, (Y/n). Do not say such nonsense. I've been aware of your feelings for the Young Master for awhile now. You must know that such feelings are nothing to be ashamed about."

"Yes, they are! Elizabeth and Ciel are engaged!"

"But they are not in love." Sebastian quickly responds. You stare at him with your eyes full of raw confusion.

"How do you know that?" You ask with a sad frown adorning your tearful redden face. Sebastian reaches over with his gloved hand and wipes a single tear running down your face away. You blush from the contact but don't say anything.

"Because if anyone knows the Young Master like I do. I know he is not in love with Lady Elizabeth. I see the way he looks at you. I know for certain he feels something for you. Don't you notice? I would think its quite obvious."

Narrowing your (e/c) eyes, you shift your eyes away from Sebastian's intense gaze. "He doesn't love me. That's absolutely impossible." You reply in a quiet voice that was full of pain. Sebastian lowers his head and smiles faintly.

"Anything is possible, Miss. (Y/n). You just need to look a little more closely to see." Sebastian then stands up and begins walking over to the door. You don't look at him as you stare down at you bed with a troubled expression on your face. Opening the door, Sebastian glances at you and smiles. "Get some rest. You will need it for tomorrow's agenda."

Nodding you glance over at Sebastian to see that he was already gone. Frowning to yourself, you repeat what Sebastian had told you in your head over and over again like a mantra. 'No… Sebastian is wrong. Ciel would never feel that way towards me. I have to remember who I am. He doesn't deserve someone like me, anyway. He deserves better. He deserves Lady Elizabeth.' Fighting the urge to cry some more, you lay back down and get comfortable under the sheets and blankets. The rest of the night you thought of Ciel and what Sebastian spoke to you until you fell asleep. Only to have more dreams about the Young Master, whom you loved with all your heart.

Blithe smile, lithe limb

She who's winsome, she wins him

Gold hair with a gentle curl

That's the girl he chose

And Heaven knows

I'm not that girl.

The very next day you were with Mey-Rin and helping her clean around the manor. You tried to keep your wits about you as you continued to think about last night's discussion with Sebastian. Mey-Rin kept asking you what was wrong but you defiantly didn't want her to know. So you would keep lying to her telling her everything was perfectly fine and dandy, even though it wasn't.

It wasn't until you saw Ciel himself walk up when you stood at attention. "Good morning, Young Master." You say to him while bowing your head in respect.

"Good morning to you as well, (Y/n)." Ciel replied back politely before suddenly looking somewhat embarrassed. "I… I need to speak to you for a moment in private." Ciel said while looking oddly unsure of himself. It was a strange reaction coming from him. You could even swore you saw him blushing somewhat.

You also blush and nod to him, "Of course." Mey-Rin watches the two of you walk away with a knowing smile on her face.

Now away from Mey-Rin, you and Ciel are standing alone together in a room. Not even Sebastian seemed to be around which was odd. "(Y/n)… I wanted to speak with you." Ciel said calmly though part of him looked a little on edge. What possibly would Ciel want to speak to you about? Maybe, about some preparations for something you weren't expecting? Watching Ciel with complete attentiveness, you blink a few times and had to ask.

"What is it, young master?"

Ciel frowns at this and sighs softly, "Please, (Y/n). You may call me by my name. I don't mind." Ciel replied while looking a little embarrassed. "I wanted to speak to you because Sebastian had brought up a few concerning matters to me about you." Ciel said, sounding in his usual firm but calm and authoritative voice that made him sound much older than he actually was.

Your heart races astoundingly fast inside your chest. Your breath feels like it hitches in you throat and you begin to squirm nervously on the spot. Sebastian didn't actually mention your feelings to Ciel last night did he!? So much for being able to trust Sebastian to keep something a secret. You felt like you were dying of embarrassment now in front of Ciel. "O-oh…" You say and begin blushing intensely, "What kind of matters?"

Ciel blushes and looks away from your eyes with a frown as you stare at him with your bright (e/c) eyes. "He told me you have been wanting to talk to me but have been feeling intimidated by me. I don't want you to feel you cannot approach me, (Y/n). What is it that you have been wanting to converse with me with about? You do not have to feel afraid…" Ciel says and finally turns his blue eyes back to you questionably. You mentally wanted to do something horrible to Sebastian for putting you in this situation. Why would he do this!? Now internally panicking you didn't know what to say without sounding ridiculous or rude. What were you supposed to say? You didn't have anything to say to Ciel. Well, you actually did but there was no way you were going to tell Ciel of your feelings towards him.

You can't stop blushing as you look down away from his penetrating eyes, "I'm n-not afraid. I-I don't know exactly what Sebastian said to you, but I don't believe I really ever mention that I needed to speak to you. N-no offense, young mast- I mean Ciel."

Ciel looked at you disbelievingly. He could see the longing lingering in your eyes. He was painfully curious to what you needed to speak to him about. Ciel would never admit he found you charming. At first, he tried to put it aside, especially since he knew he was engaged to Elizabeth. But being around you for this long time, he found himself more drawn to you then he ever was Elizabeth. He wished it weren't the case, but he just couldn't get you out of his mind. He wasn't in love with Elizabeth like he should be but rather his affections went out to someone very special in front of him who had beautiful (h/l) (h/c) hair and radiant (e/c) eyes that lit up a room. Ciel found it hard to stop blushing himself thinking about you.

"Are you sure?" Ciel said a little more softly than before. Your eyes glided back to staring into each other's.

You stare at him before lowering your gaze and nod while at the same time mentally sighing. You wished you had the bravery to tell him but if you did you knew it would be pointless. So you persuaded yourself it wasn't worth bringing up. Ciel would never return your feels. Not with Lady Elizabeth as his fiancée…

"I'm sure." You reply solemnly. Ciel still didn't believe you but he nodded and looked away. Both of you couldn't look each other in the eyes. Ciel felt somewhat disappointed you weren't opening up. Were you really that afraid to talk to him? Was he that intimidating? He didn't think he was but he trusted Sebastian wouldn't lie to him on the matter. However, he didn't want to keep making you feel uncomfortable if he was. He would let it go… for now.

"If you say so, (Y/n) but if you change your mind do not feel frightened to speak to me in the future." You felt like crying as Ciel began to walk away. You had so much to say to him and there you go you had your chance and blew it. Clenching onto your fists tightly and tears streaming down your face. You were left alone in the room to yourself. Ciel was gone, just like that.

"I'm sorry, Ciel… I'm sorry, I can't tell you how much I love you." You whisper to yourself in sadness and begin rubbing your eyes with your hands as you stood there alone and feeling incredibly depressed.

Don't wish, don't start

Wishing only wounds the heart

I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl

There's a girl I know

He loves her so

I'm not that girl...

After that day with Ciel things had gotten really awkward. You couldn't stand being in the same room with Ciel, only because of how painful it was to think you could have revealed you feelings to him that day. You missed your chance, you blew it. Walking through the halls of the Phantomhive manor. You sigh heavily and look like an empty corpse walking the halls. Another day like any other, simply depressing. Lady Elizabeth was supposed to be visiting today. Another reason to make this day even worse. You got to stand in the background and watch the ever so blissful Elizabeth cling onto Ciel and chatter happily to him throughout the day. Then you got to endure all the jealous feelings you would feel for the petite golden blonde girl like always.

However, you never expected today to be different, very different. Walking to the main foyer that was the entrance of the Phantomhive manor. You could hear the distance sounds of Elizabeth but she sounded loud, like she was yelling. That seemed strange of Elizabeth to be yelling and sounding rather… angry? Picking up your step, you enter inside the foyer and stand to the side in shock as you see Ciel and Elizabeth glaring at each other. Her bright emerald eyes were tearful and swollen as she kept glaring Ciel down hurtfully.

"W-why Ciel?! Why!?" She cried as Ciel stood there with a frown while at the same time looking rather unfeeling to her blubbering cries.

"It has been decided, Elizabeth. It is just how it must be." Ciel replied and looked away from her glaring eyes to gaze briefly at Sebastian who was standing off to the side. Sebastian looked calm as ever but you weren't. Your eyes were wide as the two were arguing rather heatedly about something. You saw Sebastian's eyes slip over towards you, he placed a white gloved finger to his mouth to keep you silent. You give Sebastian a confused look before looking back at Ciel and Elizabeth.

"I-I thought you loved me, Ciel! Why!? I don't understand!" Elizabeth tried walking over towards Ciel with her look of anguish. Ciel backed away with coldness as he turned his head away from Elizabeth's teary eyed face.

"I cannot force myself to do this any longer. I love someone else and I can't change the way I feel. I'm sorry, Elizabeth." Ciel replied stoically and then turned his deep blue eyes to look over at you. Your whole body stiffens as he stares at you with an unreadable expression. Gulping you feel little under his gaze while at the same time your heart was raging a storm inside. He loved someone else!? Were they breaking up their engagement!?

Elizabeth cringed and shot her gaze over to you with a deep glare, "Its her isn't it!?" Elizabeth cried and then placed her hands to her face and sobbed. Your eyes were still wide but you feel a sick feeling enter your stomach as Elizabeth accuses you of such a thing. Ciel's face remains expressionless as he looks back from you and Elizabeth. Ciel doesn't object but rather remains silent. Elizabeth's bottom lip trembled before stomping her foot on the ground, "It is! Why Ciel!?"

"You should leave, Elizabeth." Ciel brings up and turns his eyes from you and stares at Elizabeth. She wails in another cry and then brings her hands up to her face as she goes charging out of the manor's front entrance in loud ear-piercing sobs. Ciel sighs and turned to look at Sebastian, "Can you take care of her, please?" Ciel asks calmly and Sebastian nods his head while placing his hand on his chest and bowing.

"Of course, Young Master." Sebastian replies and then sends you a look that simply said, 'now is your chance'. Sebastian soon began walking in the direction Elizabeth ran off to go get her and take her home. Ciel looked down as the doors closed and began rubbing his temples in frustration. You were frozen on the spot as you watched Ciel. You were alone with him in the foyer. Sebastian's mute acknowledgment for you was bustling through your mind. Was it proper to approach Ciel after such an ordeal? Gulping nervously, you take your chances and gradually approach Ciel. He notices your nearing presence and looks up from the floor and at you. You feel that feeling buzzing through your body again with tingly sensations. You were so afraid to talk to him but you knew this might be the chance you were always looking for. Ciel was no longer engaged to Elizabeth. They broke it off. You thought you would feel ecstatic by this news but instead you felt horrible for Lady Elizabeth. She loved Ciel didn't she? She must be heartbroken...

"Young Master…" You spoke up which made him grunt and shake his head.

"Remember what I said about that…" Ciel replied while staring right through you with that unreadable look in his visible eye again.

"Oh yes… I'm very sorry. I mean Ciel." You correct yourself and feel your cheeks heat up again from forgetting. "Are you alright? Is there something I can do for you?" You ask softly as you place your hands in front of you as you look at him. He turns his body to face you completely and seems to suddenly scrutinize you in silence. Why was he looking at you in such a way? Didn't he know what he was doing to your heart?

"Yes, actually." Ciel responded with a slight nod. The two of you stared each other, the room fell into a fierce intensity that was chilling to the bone. "I want you to tell me what you were going to say to me before a couple weeks back. I know you wanted to say something to me. I want to know, (Y/n)." Ciel eyed you expectantly while at the same time putting you on the spot. You felt your heart drowning inside the depths of your chest. Why did he have to order you to tell him? Why did he care so much? Shouldn't he be grieving over the loss of Lady Elizabeth right now? He acted like it didn't even faze him.

Your fumble with your hands in front of you and look down from Ciel's questionable gaze. "It was nothing important, Ciel." You try dodging the subject but he wasn't having it, not a bit.

"I didn't ask if it was important. I want to know what you wanted to say to me. It seems important to you, so I want to know." Ciel acknowledged back with a tone that sounded slightly impatient. Not wanting to make him become frustrated with you, you had to think of something to say and quickly. Ciel notices how uncomfortable you look but he doesn't care this time. He had to know. He had to know if what he thought was true. When you weren't giving him a response quick enough, he spoke up. "(Y/n)…" Ciel stepped towards you and frowned as you kept looking away from him, "Look at me when I'm speaking to you." He commanded which made you swiftly look up at his serious face.

"Ciel… Please…" You murmur and shudder under his intense look. You couldn't believe how close Ciel was to you right now. He was merely one step away from you before being dangerously close.

"Tell me." Ciel commanded again.

Falling silent you knew it was unchangeable, you were stuck and had to say it. Ciel was demanding it from you and your heart was begging to finally release what you have kept in for so long inside your heart. "I-I don't know how to put it… Without being disrespectful."

"I don't care. Stop stalling and tell me, (Y/n)."

You felt tears wanting to brim from your (e/c) eyes. They were already shimmering and almost blurring your vision. Ciel noticed this but he remained firm in his demeanor while intently studying you as he did.

You made sure to keep your eyes on Ciel as you spoke. He already commanded you to look him in the eye. It was time to either make it or break it. You were left without a choice in the matter. "Ciel I… I-" You felt yourself tremble pathetically in front of him. Holding on tightly to the sides of your maid dress, you finally released the built up from inside. "I love you…" Your eyes snap wide and you slap your hands onto your mouth. That was NOT how you wanted that to come out! You expected Ciel to turn away and scoff and hate you for even suggesting something so absurd. But he did not turn away, he did not make a disgusted face. He only stood there with a blush and an unreadable expression once again. "I-I-I'm so s-sorry!" You gushed out in nothing but shameful embarrassment.

Ciel remains silent for a moment as he processed what you had said before speaking after an agonizing couple of long seconds, "Don't apologize to me. Thank you for finally telling me. I was beginning to think you never would." Ciel said calmly, he hardly seemed fazed once again. It was almost like he was.. excepting this? Ciel did the unimaginable for you as he glanced down once before looking you back in the eyes with the faintest of smiles. "I'm glad you did."

"Ciel…" You breathe out his name with wide eyes. He was so calm and collected, he took it perfectly. But now did he hate you? No, he just said he was glad you told him but what did that mean? You wanted to take flight and run away but regretted that feeling once you felt arms suddenly around you. Ciel was hugging you! You were as stiff as a board as you were in his arms. He buried his face into your hair and remained in silence. You just stood there stupidly for a long time, it took your brain a long time to tell your arms to wrap around him. When they finally did, you felt a feeling of complete bliss. This is how you dreamt this to happen in your dreams, but it was even better. He was warm and gentle with you. The hug never lasted long enough as he pulled back and brought his hands back to himself. You painfully longed for his arms to come back. You wanted to stay enraptured in his arms forever.

He stares at you and remains smiling, something you rarely see Ciel do. Actually, this might be one of the first times seeing him smile so genuinely. "(Y/n)… I've been wanting to tell you but I wanted to know first if you felt the same. When Sebastian told me about you fearing to speak to me, I didn't know what to say. It concerned me though…The only thing I can say to you now is that Elizabeth was right. Even she knew that I… I love you, (Y/n)." Ciel confessed while diverting his gaze from you with some shyness.

Your heart leapt with rejoicing as Ciel had said those seemingly impossible words to you. For as long as you been here at the manor, you never in your life expected for Ciel to feel anything for you. How could this be? Were you dreaming again? You prayed that you wouldn't wake up from this dream! You couldn't help but shake your head with wide eyes, "But what about Lady Elizabeth?"

Ciel shook his head and frowned lightly, "What about her? We were not meant for each other. I had to break the engagement off with her. I just thought one day to myself, I would have to marry her and then it dawned on me. I do not love her… Not like I came to love you. Do you accept my feelings? I did not mean to hurt Elizabeth but it had be done…"

You gulp and blush deeply. Your heart was on a flutter and so badly did you want to hold Ciel and never let go. He loved you. How did this miracle happened? Maybe, wishing stars really do make dreams come true. "I did not mean to come in between you and Elizabeth, but if what you say is true. Of course, I accept your feelings. Because I have them too."

Ciel smiled again and then extended his hand for you to take. You gaze at his ringed hand and timidly take it into your own. It was a perfect fit. "I know you did not mean too. It was not your fault. It was just meant to be this way. Elizabeth will find someone better suited for her. But now (Y/n)… I want to ask if you would be mine." Ciel looked you in the eyes with a caring look. A look that suited his face but somehow it very rarely ever was shown, if ever.

"Ciel… I would be honored to be yours. Even though this feels wrong since you just broke your engagement with Eliza-" Ciel's lips pressed against your own, cutting you off from your rambling. Ciel was not at all forceful, not rough in the slightest, but was absolutely gentle and mindful with what he was doing. You were shocked for a moment but soon fluttered your (e/c) eyes closed to melt into the kiss. It was pure Heaven. Placing your hands around his waist as he did the same to you. You let Ciel finally have entrance and let him deepen the kiss. Ciel was a bit shy at first but he took charge like he knew how to do very well. It was simply sweet and full of longing that the both of you have endured for so long without each other. Your mind would have had felt guilty for Elizabeth but at that moment your thoughts were only on him and how much you cared about him.

Breaking from the kiss, both of you were breathing a bit heavily. Ciel and you were both blushing and staring into each other eyes. "That was… wonderful." You mummer to him and he nods and glances down with a faint smile.

"Yes, it was." He replied lowly and then looked surprised as he heard you chuckle.

"Why are you laughing?" He asks in confusion.

You smile back at him and touch his cheek gently with your soft hand, "You're so red." Ciel tenses up and only blushes more. You giggle and then place a chaste kiss on his heated cheek. He looks at you with wide blue eyes and remains in embarrassed silence. You continued to airily laugh until you pulled Ciel into another hug. The two of you remain in a comfortable embrace, both silent but no words needed to be spoken. You knew and could feel the love Ciel wanted to convey but didn't know how. it was a type of love that not even words could explain but only actions could. Ciel loved you and that's all that mattered.

--------

Elizabeth had her chin rested in her hand as she stared outside the window of her carriage forlornly. She was sniffling and still slightly tearful from her break-up with Ciel. She thought of you in her mind's eye and frowned sadly. A single tear ran down her face as thought about you and Ciel being happily together. She knew something had been between the two of you but she never thought to act on it. Elizabeth loved Ciel still and just wanted him to be happy even though her love was not requited in return. Elizabeth softly whispered under her breath as she pictured your smiling face with Ciel.

"There's a girl I know… He loves her so…" Elizabeth trailed off and brought her hands to her face and sniffled as she softly murmured,

 "... I'm not that girl…"

--------------------------------------------------

Author's Note: Thanks for reading! I know it ends sadly for poor Elizabeth but I had to end it this way. I pictured Elizabeth as Glinda and yourself as Elphaba from Wicked, which the song is from. If you know the musical, Elphaba ends up with the guy in the end but Glinda is left alone. Let's just picture in our mind that our dear Lizzy finds another guy to love her even more so then Ciel did in the end. So she can be happy too! I personally love Elizabeth to death, so it was hard for me to write her with a sad ending like this… but for the sake of the one-shot I just had too. Hope you enjoyed nevertheless. Ciel was a very difficult one for me to write romantically. I had to really think about how he would respond to things.

Hope I didn't mess that up!

Another song fanfic for you, Reader-chan! Ciel was really someone I wanted to write for, but was worried I would fail and do him no justice. I had a lot of writers block because he was a difficult one. I hope that I was able to still present him in character. There is nothing I hate more than making a well-known character OOC. For the most part, I am satisfied how this came out. I felt really bad for Lizzy though but I felt the one-shot needed that little ending to really synchronize with the song I chose. I do hope you enjoyed this. It was worth the extra thinking I had to put in to finish it.

:iconcielphantomhiveplz::iconsaysplz: Make sure to read, comment, and favorite or I'll sic Sebastian on you.

Me: Don't say that Ciel! Some Sebastian fangirls around here might actually want that to happen! Manaka Mukaido (That's unfair) [V1]
