My Role Play Guidelines, Etiquette, Expectations

  I only have some simple general things I need to list and explain because I've experienced WAY too many dreadful role plays in the past to not have some basic ground rules that needed to be brought forth. These are all very honestly basic stuff and in my eyes completely reasonable and fair for us both! The most crucial goal in my role playing is to have tons of fun! Why would you even want to role play for any other reason, ya know?  

 Please read it all if you plan to role play with me! I know it's a lot but I'd rather get it all out there in the open then just simply ignore it! Take your time, dear! This journal entry is not going anywhere!

Alright here we go~!  

1) Miyux's Role-play style: I will ONLY role-play in a story-format! I have tried script-style writing in role play many, many times before and I just generally overall don't like it. It is way too easy to get away with not describing, explaining, or even responding with that much of whatever a canon character or your OC has to say when it is your turn (if they are even saying anything at all). 

2) What to expect from Miyux's style of writing/role-playing: If you've ever conversed with me here on DA or read my stories, you might be aware I have the tendency to ramble and write A LOT in one go. Well, when I role play, I am as much of a perfectionist with that as I am with actual fan fiction/story writing. I will 'usually' write a large amount of content on my turns. I want this to be well known because I don't want anyone to feel overwhelmed or pressured with trying to compete with my lengthy replies. You are NOT at all expected by me to write as much as I do, because that is simply just how I am used to writing pretty much anything. However, I do expect you to at least make a small effort and write a little more than just a measly sentence or two. Sometimes, it will take me a long time to respond too (sometimes, it might not), however I don't want you panicking or freaking out on me if I'm not responding to you right away. I try to respond quickly but understand that I write other fan fiction/stories in my free time, have a life (sort of lol), and I am even role playing with other various people too at the same time. So if you are worried you of course can say something time from time, but don't send me a ridiculous flash-flood of notes while asking me where I am or what I'm doing at the very second in time or whatever. I am the 'stubborn as a mule' type of person that will actually start ignoring you on purpose if you keep asking over and over again, to the point it becomes extremely obnoxious. I always SEE your note but I might not always respond right off the bat. 

3) Miyux's OC and Your OC & Mary-sueism: I always role play with an OC and you play your own OC (original character). This kind of delves into my expectations of your OC and my OC. I will NOT tolerate Mary-Sues or Gary-Stues of any kind. This rule isn't an exception to on my behalf either. If you or myself have some kind of issue with each other's OC, I WANT you to say something to me (please be polite about it though because we're all learning here!) and I will alert you if your OC is showing too many poor traits for my tolerance level. Understand, I am usually VERY tolerant of these unfavorable traits, but even I have to put my foot down at some point if it gets too out of hand. I won't ever be rude or nasty towards you about it because that it really not my nature. I will simply respectfully say something like: "Hey, I'm just noticing something about your OC and blah, blah, blah, I think this might help make her/him not come across unfavorably." I'm not here to judge or mercilessly pick out flaws in your OC. I just want to offer my help and support anytime I can. I'm not even saying I'm always correct in my suggestions but just as they are - they're 'just' suggestions or something I'm noticing that is probably bothering me. Please, also try to not role play with me an OC that is known for being too provocative that it makes me feel uncomfortable. Seriously, I've written both SMUT and LEMONS before and I've come across OCs that still somehow manage to make me inwardly cringe. I don't mind OCs that make crude jokes sometimes or whatever, but don't have your OC act like a total slut the whole time, it puts me off - big time.  

 4) Romance or Shipping OCs: I simply absolutely LOVE role playing with OCs of both you and my own being shipped with a certain character or crush of whatever we're role playing about. I still have rules for this though because this has honestly been my most profound issue that people have seriously taken advantage of me over the past in some role plays. I will role play your 'romantic interest' of choice and ship them with your OC. HOWEVER, I expect something in return. To be fun for the both of us and completely fair for that matter, I want you to also role play as my OC's romantic interest in the role play too. I personally take very special care in not forgetting your OC and their romance with their shipped character of choice. So I expect you to do the same. I'm never ever expecting you to make the whole RP about ONLY the romance between my OC and the romantic interest. This is role playing in general not just writing me or yourself a cutesy little romance oriented fan fiction that is solely JUST focused on either OC. I'm very well known for writing tons of fluff scenarios because that is my area of expertise. I am even willing to write situations that are more on the 'smuttier' side. However, I will NOT write anything past that. So that means no explicit X-rated content that goes into limes or lemons. That makes me feel too uncomfortable to write about and I'd just prefer we not head into that direction. Heck, I'll even go as far as implying an OC and character had sex, but I will not write the finer descriptions that go with it. Obviously, I don't intend for you to write this either. I'd really just much rather prefer reading cutesy/fluffy stuff and sometimes (depending on the character, of course) more 'passionate' type content, but I don't even want you to go any further than that because it's really not necessary. If you ever feel like I am not putting enough attention into the romance part, PLEASE tell me. I'll do the same thing for you - so don't ever feel embarrassed or nervous if you want to mention it to me! There is no shame in it! I promise you! I don't judge! Hell no! I LOVE writing romance (obviously lol)! I will also write your crush's character in the best way possible to keep them in character, and try my best to take heed into whatever kind of romance they have with your OC that you would ever so desire from me to include. (Example: A love/hate relationship or even an obsessive Yandere relationship. I don't care honestly as long as that Yandere doesn't kill everyone LOL).   

5) What are we going to Role-Play?: Just private message (PM) me in a note and we can converse back and forth together to come up with what we want to role-play together. I am extremely open-minded on whatever you want to role play as usually I don't care too much, I'm very indecisive sometimes lol. However, it HAS to be something I am familiar enough with the canon characters that I can write them properly. My biggest rule in Miyux's regulations of writing fandom type stuff is that I HAVE to keep canon characters in character and not OOC (out of character). Now… When I say this I don't completely mean (me going back to the romance stuff from above) let's just say, I don't know. I'll use my Male version of Maleficent from Disney as an example. Perhaps, Maleficent generally in all truthfulness would NEVER end up in an actual romantic relationship with anyone (Classic Disney's version not the live-action). However, I am willing to make exceptions to this rule I have. I would try to write Maleficent in a way that would be romantic towards your character but at the same time trying my very best to remain in character in every other way possible. So you'd probably end up getting a meanie-face and very evil Male Maleficent being all totally evil and uh…- very "fond" of your OC … lol... Make sense? (Like I said, I'm even willing to write a Yandere version of your crush, cuz' I love me some Yandere! We'd just have to take out the cliche Yandere part of the Yandere deciding to kill everyone except your OC out of jealosuy… but… yeah. lol)  

6) Canon Characters; what I expect from you and myself: Please, please, please try to write the canon characters' personalities accurately! This is so important to me! As I obviously stated before I don't do that OOC stuff, and if you ever get that weird feeling that I am you BETTER tell me lol. I usually am pretty well known amongst my readers for keeping canon characters written properly. It is something I just tend to be overall pretty good at accomplishing most of the time. So please… No, happy-go-lucky giggly school girl versions of Loki from Avengers should be frolicking around throwing pretty little flowers at everyone's face during our role play… as amusing as that sounds (LOL). You can bend the personality as much as you need to properly fit our role play but just don't let it snap, ya know?  

7) What is going to happen in our Role Play?: I ask this same darn question to WAY to many people in past role plays. I absolutely cannot stand for the life of me sitting around and having NO plot basis to go off of. I'm not saying we need a solid foolproof plot line that is fleshed out completely, but PLEASE for my own sanity's sake, let's have some kind of idea where we're going. I don't mind randomness or silliness (obviously) but that is NOT going to be all that we're doing or I'll get bored real quick. Not to mention it is painfully difficult to keep a role play going if you have no foundation built under it. Like anything it will collapse under the weight and just cause utter chaos. So let us both work carefully together beforehand and even during the role play to keep a bit of a structure in what we're doing! I don't bite (  much... lol just kidding   )! Lay out EVERY idea or whatever on me! I'm very open-minded, I promise!  

8) Etiquette/Behavior towards Miyux and how I treat you: Darling… I seriously love you (lol) So please never feel intimidated to talk to me about literally anything! I rather URGE you to talk to me throughout the role playing process. I want to hear your thoughts or silly jokes or whatever! I don't care! It comes across too formal for me if we didn't chat with one another from time to time during our RP. I usually put a note in parentheses at the top section of our RP's note, and sometimes tell you how I felt about your last turn or whatever else I want to say to you. I never want you to feel like I'm above you or unapproachable. I'm as easy to talk to as they come… I promise I won't be nasty towards you, even if for some really strange odd reason you somehow annoyed me by something. Really you would have to go deliberately out of your way to be cruel towards me to make me angry with you. So please understand, I will be absolutely cordial and treat you like nothing more than a gentle little beautiful butterfly in my hands! However, I very much except mutual politeness and respect in return! If you are purposely mean to me and hurt my feelings like a jerk, obviously I'm not going to want to role play with you... let alone talk to you at all. So don't be a human version of Grumpy Cat towards me, please? Always openly express your ideas, thoughts, and feelings to me! No matter how seemingly stupid it might be to you! I'm not at all a judgmental person because truthfully I don't have any room to judge anyone either. So the famous golden-rule applies to our role play! 

9) Responding to Turns: I just want to make this one clear for you and me both. I don't at all care how long it takes for you to reply to our role play. I mean, sure, I won't want to have to wait an entire year for a response, but if you truly need to even take a few days or whatever, go ahead. I'll be very patient as long as you are patient towards me. Don't expect me to reply every second of every single day or maybe even right after you reply to me. I get a lot of other distractions and stuff to do sometimes. I understand this, so don't freak out on me if I'm not replying right to your whim. Send me one note. That's all I want, not a trillion and one all asking the same thing. I always see your notes (unless DA decides to be uncooperative and not send it). If I'm not responding it probably is because I'm busy or already trying to respond to your turn or someone else's (story-formatting for me takes way longer to respond to because I'm usually nitpicking over it like I tend to do). You can tell me also if you need a break from RPing all together, I totally get that in retrospect. If you even want to quit at one point in time, just tell me. I know things like this don't last forever!  

10) What kind of stuff do you even role play about Miyux?: I role play pretty much anything that you want to role play about, as long as I know what it is and feel comfortable enough with that universe and the canon characters' personalities. I won't role play from something I don't know about for obvious reasons. If I don't feel comfortable with the characters' overall personalities and stuff, I'll let you know. Yes, I'll even role play gender-bender characters, humanized, or whatever the heck else you could possibly come up with lol. Typically the stuff I'm into is Cartoon/animated shows, Creepypasta, Anime, Movies, and Video Games. Below this will be some stuff I like but  will also be things I'm willing to role play from too. (There probably is more that I just forgot about).

Cartoon Shows/Animated Shows I like: Invader Zim, Avatar (or Legend of Korra), Teen Titans, Danny Phantom, Kim Possible, Adventure Time, Power Puff Girls, Winx Club (it's been awhile but yeah), Ed Edd and Eddy, Fairly Odd Parents, Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Dexter's Laboratory  

Random anime I like: Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji, Ouran Host Club, Gankutsuou, Buso Renkin, Inuyasha, Blue Exorcist, 07-Ghost, Soul Eater, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist (Be lenient on me for this one. It's been awhile), Death Note, Durarara!!!, Pandora Hearts, Code Geass, D.N Angel, Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro, Bacanno!

(Only some. I'm not listing them all or we'll be here all day.) Movies I like: Howl's Moving Castle, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Treasure Planet, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Alice in Wonderland, Princess and the Frog, Mulan, Peter Pan, Hercules, Toy Story, Megamind, Finding Nemo, Osmosis Jones, Hunger Games (I haven't read the books though), Harry Potter (only saw the movies), Ice Age, Monster's Inc and University, Wizard of Oz, Madagascar, Road to El Dorado, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Kung-Fu Panda (Only 1 & 2), Shrek movies, Avengers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rise of the Guardians (personal fav), Batman (this applies for games, shows, & comics too), Wreck-It-Ralph, All Dogs go to Heaven, Lilo and Stitch (applies to show series too), A Bugs Life, Oliver and Company, Space Jam, Pebble and the Penguin, Santa Clause movies, Frozen, Tangled, Sky High, Atlantis the Lost Empire, Spiderman, and probably many more lol

(Same as above) Video Games I like: Kingdom Hearts series (obviously; hence my username lol), Bioshock series, Fallout series, Elder scroll series (Skyrim or Oblivion only), Harvest Moon (ToT or Animal Parade only), Assassin's Creed series (I've played almost all of them), Heart no Kuni no Alice (it is also a manga), Borderlands series, Five Nights at Freddy's (preferably Rebornica's version), and Dishonored

Additional Random Notes: You can have has many OCs as you want to add in our role play (Just don't get TOO ridiculous to the point it is hard for me to remember all of them lol). I'd probably prefer us to also try and pick and choose what specific canon character you play and I play as. Just so if there is a character you struggle with or myself, we can take that character off the hands from the other person. I will typically be willing to take on a lot of characters but I refuse to write every single canon character in our role play as that isn't fair at all (obviously I wouldn't do that to you either). Let's try to probably level it out as much as possible IF possible. I don't care if you cuss in the role play so let the F-bombs drop, but don't be stupid about it either, duh lol. Basically you can include as much gore/violence/morbidity or whatever as that barely bothers me (I'm a horror and yandere fangirl, guys lol). Please also have an OC that is realistic for our RP universe. No magical neko princess warriors fighting bad guys from some alternative universe comes flying on a broom stick into any RP of mine, especially if that is a RP universe where that is not typically seen (But where is that seen anyways?! Sounds like only Mary-Sue world lol).  

 Honestly, I think you get the point now. If there is something I forgot or whatever, I'll add it into this journal or just straight out tell you. If you are agreeing to all this lovely stuff here I just harassed your poor eyes with, then either tell me in the comments or just go ahead and PM me. We'll talk more about the finer details, that is if you are willing to join in on my madness, hehe~! If you have any concerns or questions just stick it to me and I'll reply to you.  

 If you even have your own guidelines or whatever for little ol' me. I think it would only be fair if I read through your terms and conditions too. Just link it to me or write it or whatnot. If you don't have any- then well… don't worry about it! lol
